Poster of the Week: Inherent Vice

If they gave Oscars for trailers (which they should), Paul Thomas Anderson's newest romp in the L.A. sunshine Inherent Vice would have this year's Golden Gordon in the bag. It's one of the best trailers I think I've ever seen. It gives you a lot of juice without telling you what fruit you're drinking. Just enough to fully wet the appetite and make you think 'my God, that was delicious. When can I have some more?' Well, more in the flavour of Inherent Vice means December. But until then, thank you once again I.V. marketing team for assembling this overtly enticing poster for us to stare and drool at in anticipation.

Everything about this poster is just plain sexy: The blue, pink and green neon lettering, the hubba, hubba legs and feet floating in the Pacific breeze, inconspicuously fashioning a V out of themselves. And the full sail (pirate?) ship charging off on another adventure in the California sun in the far background, generating just enough of an eyebrow arch to ensure intrigue. I don't know what the top half of that bikini bottomed beauty is doing on the other side of the poster, but I can't wait to find out.
